    John Cale was a member of The Velvet Underground and the genius behind the 'dirty wall of sound' sound. He was sort of the other half of Lou Reed, kind of like Paul was the other half of John, or Johnny Marr was the other half of Morrisey.

    Like Lou Reed he went on to make a bunch of great records, mostly 70s style kooky pop rock, but having the ability to compose music he has explored a number of different styles.

    He has done some work with Brian Eno but I can't find any of the songs I know on the internetz.
